What makes Disney Lorcana Enchanted Rares collectable
Ravensburger revealed the rarity as a surprise in early August 2023, only a couple of weeks before The First Chapter reached game shops on 18 August 2023. Each Enchanted card is an alternate version of a card already in the set, redrawn with new, edge-to-edge artwork and finished in a shimmering foil. In play it behaves exactly like its ordinary counterpart, so collectors, not tournament players, set the price.
The First Chapter contains twelve Enchanted cards, numbered 205/204 to 216/204, so they sit beyond the main 204-card set list. That numbering pattern has carried through later expansions, and each main set adds its own run of Enchanted cards. They appear only in the single foil slot of a booster pack, which means one pack can never hold more than one. Ravensburger has not published official odds, but community estimates and retailer guides typically put the rate at roughly one Enchanted every three to four booster boxes' worth of packs, or about one per 72 to 96 packs.
Because the pull rate is so low, Enchanted cards became the benchmark for Lorcana's secondary market almost as soon as the game launched. Demand is heavily concentrated: a handful of headline characters, such as Elsa from the first set, attract far more interest than lesser-known cards printed at the same rarity. Graded copies, especially those awarded a top grade by PSA or CGC, typically sell at a substantial premium over ungraded cards because the foil surface marks and scratches easily.
Later sets have added further layers above and around Enchanted. The 2025 set Fabled introduced Epic and Iconic rarities, with Iconic now sitting above Enchanted as the rarest treatment. Even so, Enchanted remains the rarity most collectors aim to complete set by set, and full Enchanted runs from the early sets are a popular long-term collecting goal, with many collectors tracking them card by card.
What drives the value
- Character popularity: headline Disney characters such as Elsa, Mickey Mouse and Stitch draw the strongest demand.
- Set age and print run: early sets, especially The First Chapter, were opened when the game was new and supply was tight.
- Condition and grading: the foil surface shows scratches and edge wear easily, so high PSA, BGS or CGC grades carry a large premium.
- Playability of the underlying card: an Enchanted version of a card that sees competitive play gains extra demand from players upgrading decks.
- Language and region: English copies trade most widely, while other language prints may sell at a discount or premium depending on local demand.
- Reprint risk is low for the exact Enchanted artwork, which helps collectors view them as long-term holds.
How to spot the real thing
- Check the collector number: Enchanted cards are numbered above the set total, e.g. 207/204 in The First Chapter.
- Look for artwork that runs to the card edges with no standard frame or border.
- The whole card is foil with a shimmering, rainbow-style finish rather than a flat matte face.
- Look for the hexagon-shaped rarity symbol used for Enchanted at the bottom of the card.
- Compare against a set list (for example a Lorcana wiki) to confirm the character and subtitle match a known Enchanted card.

Questions people ask
What is an Enchanted card in Lorcana?
An Enchanted card is the alternate-art version of a normal Lorcana card, printed with borderless artwork and a foil finish. It plays exactly the same as the standard version but is far rarer, which is why collectors chase it.
How rare are Lorcana Enchanted cards?
Ravensburger has not published official odds. Community data and retailer guides generally estimate one Enchanted in about every 72 to 96 packs, which works out to roughly one per three to four booster boxes.
How many Enchanted cards are in The First Chapter?
There are twelve, numbered 205/204 to 216/204. They include Elsa - Spirit of Winter, Mickey Mouse - Wayward Sorcerer and Stitch - Carefree Surfer.
Can you get two Enchanted cards in one pack?
No. Enchanted cards only appear in the pack's foil slot, so a single booster can contain at most one.
Are Lorcana Enchanted cards worth grading?
Often yes for the most popular characters, because a top grade can add a meaningful premium. Check the surface and edges carefully first, as foil scratches and whitening will hold the grade down.
Is Enchanted the rarest Lorcana card?
Not any more. Fabled (2025) added the Iconic rarity, which sits above Enchanted, and there are also serialised promo and collector cards made in very small numbers.
How can I tell if a Lorcana Enchanted card is fake?
Compare the number, artwork and foil pattern with a trusted set list and photos of a known genuine copy. Be cautious with very cheap listings, and buy graded copies or from reputable sellers where possible.
