Pokémon TCG Standard format 2026–27 explained
Standard is the main way to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game in official tournaments and in Pokémon TCG Live. Only newer cards are allowed, so the game stays fresh.
Which cards are legal?
For the 2026–27 season, cards with regulation mark H, I, J are legal in Standard. The format started in Pokémon TCG Live on 26 March 2026 and in official tournaments on 10 April 2026. Cards with a G mark rotated out.
How do I find the regulation mark?
Look at the bottom-left corner of the card, next to the set symbol. You'll see a small white letter in a box. Read our guide to regulation marks.

Did a card I own rotate?
If a card has a G mark or older, it can't be used in Standard, but you can still use it in the Expanded format or in casual games with friends. A card reprinted later with an H, I or J mark is legal in its newer version.
