Buying Pokémon cards safely: avoid fakes and scams
Short answer: buy from sellers with a strong history, pay with a method that has buyer protection, and check the exact card against the real set list.
Warning signs
- Prices far below recent sold listings
- Stock photos instead of photos of the actual card
- Packs that look loose, glued or creased at the crimp
- Requests to pay by bank transfer to a stranger
Check the card
Every real card has a matching set, number and rarity. Look it up in our set lists — fakes often use numbers or rarities that don't exist.
Pully Value is for adult collectors (18+). Prices on each card page come from public marketplace data and aren't financial advice — check recent UK sold listings before you buy or sell.
