About this card
Pikachu 12/40 is card 12 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (40 numbered cards). It's one of 40 Promo cards in the set — 100% of 40. There are 134 English cards named “Pikachu”. This is the 13th; the first was in Base Set (1999). It has 50 HP. Kouki Saitou illustrated 5 cards in Nintendo Black Star Promos and 653 English cards in total.
It isn't legal in the 2026–27 Standard format, so demand comes mainly from collectors.
Is Pikachu 12/40 worth anything?
Copies of this card currently trade at around $168.30 on TCGplayer, assuming near-mint condition. The price you'll get in the UK depends mostly on condition: check the corners, edges and surface, and whether the artwork is well centred. Damaged cards sell for much less, while professionally graded copies in top condition can sell for far more.
To be sure you have the right card, match the set symbol and the number 12/40 printed at the bottom of your card. There are 213 different Pikachu cards, so the number matters. Then compare completed eBay UK listings — sold prices, not asking prices — for copies in similar condition.
