Prize cards explained: winning the Prize trade
Each player starts with 6 Prize cards face down. When you Knock Out one of your opponent's Pokémon, you take Prize cards. Take your last one and you win.
How many Prizes does each Pokémon give?
| Kind | Prizes | Standard cards | Average HP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Pokémon | 1 | 1569 | 98 |
| Pokémon ex | 2 | 172 | 254 |
| Mega Evolution Pokémon ex | 3 | 41 | 323 |
The Prize trade
Bigger Pokémon have more HP and stronger attacks, but they hand over more Prizes. If your 1-Prize Pokémon Knocks Out a 2-Prize Pokémon ex, you're ahead even if it gets Knocked Out straight back. Six Prizes can be three ex, two Mega ex, or six regular Pokémon.
