How to read a Pokémon card number
At the bottom of every card you'll find a number like 25/165. The first number is the card's position in the set; the second is the set's printed total.
Numbers to look out for
- Higher than the total (e.g. 205/165) — a secret rare.
- Letters in front (e.g. TG05, SV49, GG12) — a subset such as Trainer Gallery, Shiny Vault or Galarian Gallery.
- No total (e.g. SVP 085) — a promo card.
Find the set
Next to the number is the set symbol, and on newer cards a three-letter set code. Use our chase lists by set to check what you've got.
