Pokémon card collecting tips for teens

Collecting is more fun with a plan. A few tips from experienced collectors:

Pick a focus

One favourite Pokémon, one set, one artist or one rarity. Our Pokémon chase lists, illustrator lists and rarity lists make good targets.

Trade safely

• Trade in person, at school clubs, leagues or local game shops.
• Check both cards' condition before you swap.
• Don't feel pressured — it's fine to say no.
• Be careful trading online and never share personal details. Talk to a parent or carer before any online trade.

Keep track

Use the tick boxes on our checklists or a notebook. Knowing what you've got stops you trading for duplicates.
