Pokémon TCG tournaments for young players
Official Pokémon tournaments are run under the Play! Pokémon programme at local shops and bigger events.
Age divisions
Players are split into Junior, Senior and Masters divisions by birth year, so you mostly play people your own age. Check the official Play! Pokémon website for which division you're in this season.
Where to start
Local game shops run Pokémon Leagues and League Challenges — friendly, small events that are perfect for a first tournament.
What to bring
- Your 60-card deck in sleeves, all the same colour.
- A written or printed deck list, if the event asks for one.
- Dice or a coin, and damage counters.
- A parent or carer if the event or your age requires it.
Signing up
You'll need a Pokémon Trainer Club account and a Play! Pokémon ID. Younger players need a parent or guardian to help create the account.
